Kristin Donaldson Irwin joined the ASU Office of Government Affairs and Community Relations in January 2018. Kristin’s office serves as a liaison to local communities, municipalities and key business organizations. Her department is also responsible for outreach and programming into a variety of communities around the State. Prior to joining the Office of Government Affairs and Community Relations, Kristin Donaldson Irwin served as vice president of engagement for the ASU Foundation for A New American University since January 2014. In the six years prior she served the foundation as vice president of strategic initiatives and outreach, vice president of organizational development, and chief of staff. In her roles at the ASU Foundation, Donaldson Irwin brought a range of experience in strategic and tactical management, expertise in working with ASU’s internal and external communities and constituencies, and the ability to advance the foundation’s most important initiatives. Her affiliation with ASU dates to 2005 when she was appointed director of external relations for global management and leadership at the university’s West campus. Prior to joining the foundation, she served as vice president of economic development and business relations at the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, as well as deputy director for U.S. Representative Matt Salmon. Donaldson Irwin is a second-generation ASU alumna who has been recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal and Arizona Women’s Magazine for her leadership abilities and accomplishments.
